For an instrument that is around 80+ years old it is in remarkable condition with no splits or serious damage.

Kalamazoo was Gibson’s budget brand before Epiphone, designed to help keep the company going during the Great Depression. Robert Johnson played the slightly larger KG-14 so these instruments have a serious pedigree.

The fingerboard has a 45.5mm nut width, and there is a very noticeable V to the neck which feels solid and reassuring. It has a lovely 24.75” which feels comfortable without being too spongy.

Tone-wise, the Sport Model is gorgeous; very dry, bell-like with a sweet lingering sustain. Think the clarity of someone like Dave Rawlings and you’d be close. This is a guitar made for dusty porch blues.

Comes in a non-original hard shell case.
