LSL Instruments Soledad DX Semi-Hollow T Style - Hand-Rubbed Sunburst - 'Platypus'

Here is our first semi-hollow body guitar and it’s a stunner. We rout a complex wave-guide into the body that transmits sound out the F-holes. These come with either an alder top or you can get one with a curly or quilted maple top. Our Soledads are also available in a wide variety of pickup configurations. This guitar has a very distinct sound that is somewhat reminiscent of our Saticoys. Since the body is semi-hollow they are very lightweight instruments. The body is often painted in contrast to the top for a beautiful two-tone look. This is also Lance’s favorite!

Each body is built and detailed by hand. Each neck is hand shaped. Then we lay on the thinnest possible nitrocellulose lacquer finish and that finish is then weather checked. This creates a very airy, open, articulate tone that is then enhanced by our own, LSL hand-wound pickups.

This is as close as you can get to achieving the tone, playability, look and feel of a vintage guitar. Our T Bones have found their way into the hands of many a player who has replaced their 50s vintage instrument with our own. The best materials, best processes and a love and care for each guitar is what makes the T Bone the new standard in vintage-style instruments. We make them all for ourselves but then we have to sell them.

All of our T Styles are tone monsters. Their pickups sing and are very touch responsive. They shine brightest in their higher gain applications where they cut through without piercing.
